Great Family Holiday
Reviewed by Andrea, 2008-05-27 I went to The Ficus 23/04/2008. I went with hubby and a grandson also got my sister to go on a plane for the first time in her life (she is 55) with her partener and a grandson. We had a fantastic time, yes the pool is a bit cold and deep but once you have been in your fine, I couldnt keep my grandson out, he had his armbands on so he was fine, Dave and Simon do a great job and the kids loved them. My sister enjoyed it so much she is looking to book again for next year and take another grandchild so it must be a good place to go because she hated the flights. If you do go to the Ficus you will have a lovely time, I have been to a few places and must say the staff were the best here so helpfull from start to finish. Oh and if you could take Simon and Dave some dart flights they would be very greatfull and tell them the family that won everything asked you to take them.

SIMON UGHHHHHHHHH
Reviewed by angie, 2008-01-20 Oh my god how awful my holiday would have been if Simon had stayed for the full 10 days, we were spared his atrocious singing he was so up himself and opinionated , no one liked him especially his stinking dog breath, he didnt like sharing the " limelight " with Carly whom I would like to add must have drawn the short straw , she was so bubbly game for a laugh and very pleasant.
I have to say for a great fun time at the Ficus you have to experience Katherine and John what FAB entertainment both during the day and night with games for all and the best fun ever, thanks to you to our hols turned out great

On the Ficus itself the apartments were spacious, only downside was the 3 steps leading from the hallway into the lounge area could be quite dangerous for youngsters or those who have one too many fall down juices haha.
The rooms were cleaned regular the bedding was changed 3 times in 10 days and the towels were clean every day.
The whole complex was very clean , the food was nice but a bit samey if you know what I mean, the pool was freezing I thought I had read a review stating it was heated ( my mistake )and no lifeguards which I thought was very poor as there is not a lot of space between the sunbeds and the pool and anyone of the youngsters could have fell in.
For something a bit livier in the evenings just down the road in the square is Legends plenty of happy hours and a great atmosphere, good entertainment like hypnotists tribute bands etc etc.
There are Spar shops pharmacies gifts shops etc all in close proximity. But be careful when walking on the pavements down to the square as they are awfully dangerous.
There is a great tattooist on the start of the square who is excellent and really cheap.
Enjoy your stay at the Ficus we did .

Ficus Apartments - great holiday but not child friendly
Reviewed by Geraldine, 2008-01-18 The resort itself was clean and tidy and the staff spoke brillant english and were very pleasant. The food was well presented, hot and varied, the theme nights were good. The entertainment staff were good and worked hard to cater for all.
The only downside I would say was the resort did not cater for younger children. The pool has no life guard (although states it does), the children's pool is okay for over 5 year olds but not babies. The pool itself is freezing (is unheated) and the play park (a grit surface) isn't suitable for younger children.
We spent our days on the beach which is great for families with young children, there are life guards, little rock pools and plenty of space for those wandering toddlers. Costa Teguise has good shops, bars and places to eat.
On a windy overcast day we visited the local aquarium which was great, the children loved seeing sharks, sting ray and lots of different fish - very good value for money.
We would return to Costa Teguise but probably opt for a more child friendly resort (with a heated swimming pool).
