My Review Of Los Zocos
Reviewed by Georgie, 2008-04-20

I think that Los Zocos is a great hotel, it has lots for people to do, especially the kids. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the beach which was really good for the party that i went with because we liked to go to the beach quite alot. The hotels food and entertainment was pretty good, we thought that the entertainment could have been better but thats about it really. I think that we would probably go back becasue the staff are really friendly and it is just a really nice place to stay for a holiday.

We've been seven times to Lanzarote, and stayed at Los Zocos six time's and enjoy every minute of it. We alway's go All Inclusive, and we find it is good value for money. The Food is great, the Entertainment lively, and the Staff wonderful. The Apartment's have just been refurbished, and are clean and comfy, We have been there with our Children, Children's Friends and Mum and Dad, and we have all had a great time. We have been to nearly all the attraction's on the Island, and have been back to some of them two or three time's. We will be going back again during the winter month's

honest review of los zocos

Just had a holiday at Los Zocos from Feb 18th-25th 2008 with 2 adults and 3 kids aged 6 5 and 2. Booked the accomadation direct which was no problem and much cheaper than First Choice which has a dominance of apts block 2.

All rooms have now been refurbished and really are very nice with a fully stocked kitchen, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and pots/cutlery etc. So if you are self catering and want to prepare your own meals then you will find this very suitable for your needs. We however went on an all inclusive option for 19 euro per day for adults and 10 for the kids. They did not charge for children under 6 years old for anything which is very fair and we ate in the restaurants every day. The food was very nice to be honest, although if you are used to 4* hotels in say Tenerife then you will find that the choice provided here is far smaller. Even though you will not go hungry as there is still a good choice of salads, fish, pasta and in the bouleverd restaurant a chinese buffet, english carvery and salads etc. The drinks are local beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks free from 10.30-11pm and we did make use of this with ice cream as well for the kids all day.

As we booked direct we had to have a taxi from the airport to Los Zocos and with 5 of us we gad to take 2 taxis as they will no only take 4 per cab. So beware of this and the cost is approx 19 euros for the trip (approx 20 mins). However on our return we did find a driver that let all of us in as there was no other taxis about! but to be sure take enough cash for 2.

The kids enjoyed the entertainment ie disco and daily games, the entertainment team are all very young but the kids loved them and they do make a great effort and I did leave a glowing report for them as well with the hotel questionaire. The entertainment for adults in the evening is the usual singing, dance, parot acts that is usual for this time of year etc.The pools are very cold as they are not heated but were cleaned daily and in general the resort was very tidy and well kept.

Las Cucharas beach is a 5 min walk away and is a very nice sandy beach and we had a couple of days there as well to get away from the resort although being this close you can pop back for drinks/lunch and go again.

So would I recommend this resort, yes definately as for the standard of accomadation and the all inclusive option it is very well priced, if you are singles looking for a lively week then this is not the resort for you as it is more family orientated to be honest at this time of year but it may of course be very different in the summer season. So do yourself a favour and book direct and save loads and enjoy!!

Ps the weather for the week was 4 days sun, 2 days rain and 1 cloudy, 21-23 each day and to put it all in context when back at Luton airport pouring with rain!! (source: tripadvisor)

Not as good as it looks

Dont be fooled by the Photos if you are in block 3 you dont get the sun they are cold and you dont look over the pool. not many places for entatanment only have 2 and for the size of the los zocos club resort there could be more. would not go back to this resort.

Mediocre
Reviewed by Janet, 2008-03-09

I have to say I have mixed feelings about both Costa Teguise and this hotel complex. The complex has a good location but is rather lacking in atmosphere expecially during the day. Thank goodness the sun shone for us on our recent 7 day break.

We ate in El Boulevard every opportunity we got as this food was very good. Also the drinks service was far superior. The buffett food is good but I would reccommend you eat at the 6.30pm sitting as all food is hot and fresh. Eat later and it could be a little disappointing. The dessert choice on offer was the same most days icecream or cake no variety which was a shame. The chefs need to be more adverturous in the dessert department.

We were given an apartment in the old block which had not been renovated as per the description therefore no sun appeared on our balcony ever. If you are given one of these apartments ask to be moved straight away.

The Reception staff are not approachable and are very kurt. They will fob you off when any complaints are made. However housekeeping and other staff are lovely.

Yes the pools are cold but once you get over the initial shock it is very exilerating just be brave and enjoy a dip.

We had a good holiday through the choices we made each day and the sunbeathing was excellent. I would not return to this resort by choice or Costa Teguise. We prefer Puerto Del Carmen having stayed there previously but having said that we always enjoy Lanzarote for winter sun.

Freezing Pool! But still good...
Reviewed by Aiden, 2008-02-15

This resort is awesome! The one thing that lets you down though is the pool, which is very cold. It's almost frozen! However, good hotel, excellent rooms! We stayed from the 28th December until the 4th of january in room 1145. There was a black and white cat on the balconies around us, and it got annoying. So if you stay in rooms 1143 - 1146, be careful of the black and white cat!
